Extra info
This Championship layout, designed by golf course architect Alan Barnard, was opened for play in 1990. At first sight the generous fairways, on gently undulating terrain leading to large receptive greens, will give the impression that this will be little trouble to bother the wayward shot.
Do not be fooled. The course, measuring 6318 metres from the back tees, has a rating of 73 and the challenge lies in clever and intimidating water features created from storm water channels that criss-cross the entire golf course. Another factor will also be the wind. This can prove to be a major factor in determining the degree of diffi culty on this exposed terrain. Here, the wind channels through the valley, swirling in many different directions, and some of the short holes can require anything from a wood to a short iron depending on the mood of the day.
In 1997, a magnificent clubhouse was completed housing an excellent pro-shop, halfway house, bar and lounge facilities. An added bonus to these facilities is a 240 metre long driving range.
